Back in the saddle again

So today's post will be like all my other posts and be short and sweet. I think i will do a quick update on life. Since Becca will probably go into detail on Craig's wedding i will just say that the trip and wedding were fun and quick. When we got home and i previewed the yard i found that there had been some hot dry days while we were gone. All the grass had died and any new leaves on our plants were yellow and some plants didn't make it. I dropped one of my summer classes in favor of taking it during the fall so i can get full time status and all the loans and work study that goes with it. Besides with out that one class i can now see Becca more than once a week. I got one of my 2 school books and now am only slightly behind in that class and i am still waiting on my statistics book so i can start doing the problems in it so i can better retain the lesson from class. I called the gateway peoples support line and talked to a rep who was much more thorough about what was wrong with my laptop and scheduled another send in time. So hopefully this time it will get fixed, because if it doesn't i may just have to go "Becca" all over them. Other than that the weather is now cool and rainy and looks like it will stay that way for the weekend, which is fine with me because we plan to tear out and reseed the front lawn and the heat would not be very welcome. But i will leave you now because i have been in this chair for 4 hrs and if i don't get up now it will be another 4 hours till i get the chance again.

They say that to become a real skater or blader or bmx-er you have to wipe out pretty good and do some damage. Well today i became an official scooterer. About 3 weeks ago i found a razor scooter some kid had left behind because they had broken the front wheel, bent the forks and messed up the pole that leads to the handles. Well i had been wanting to find a new way of getting around the campus using some wheels but can't skateboard, don't want to hassle w/ a bike and don't want to take on and off roller blades, so i thought this scooter might be the solution. I toke it home bought a new wheel straitened the forks and the pole was only keeping the handles from retracting, no big deal. So i took it to school to my job on campus and road it to and from work and other than it being a little short i had no problems. Than today i took it to class with me and getting to the school was fine i was on a side walk and would have to get off every now and then so i didn't run over people and had no problem. Then on the way back from class i had to go across a couple of different types of concrete pourings. This was the first place the scooter failed the wheels are so small it would get stuck in groves and i would have to get off it to pull it out of this 1/4 inch groove then later on a parking lot i found that it doesn't turn very well either.


Then came the time of my christening. There is this semi long and steep hill to get to the train stop and last time i had ridden down half of it from work. This time i decided to start at the top. Two skinned palms, one skinned knee and a skinned elbow later i found out that the brakes don't work that great either and that i can not run as fast as a scooter can roll down hill. Yes, of course i lost it in front of a group of people walking up the side of the parking lot and one guy actually stopped and asked if i was o.k. So did i feel embarrassed and stupid? Why no actually my adrenaline was running so hard and i was having so much fun that i actually was laughing and having a good time despite the blood oozing out of my body and the knowledge that tomorrow i will be totally sore. It has been so long since i got out and did anything like that, that i had a great time. however the scooter has shown me that it can not do what i need it to. So i have decided that i need to look elsewhere for my new form of transportation and maybe I'll just pawn the free scooter.

So my laptop has been having problems so i sent it in to get fixed before my warranty runs out on it. yesterday i got it back and the second i cut the tape on the box i realized i had forgot to remove the pass word to my windows when i sent it in! So i knew they must have reformatted my drive and reloaded window. Sure enough i turn it on and it is no longer my computer it has lost all its personality and is now a blank slat that i must now try to rebuild again. So that was soooo frustrating and saddening for me. But then today i put on some of my backed up files and left for school a little early so i could download some updates for the lappy and guess what i find. THEY DIDN'T FIX THE PROBLEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They completely deleted my files, ruined years of personalizing and not only sent it back unfixed but it is coming up with errors it never had before i sent it! If i could get the guy on the phone who did this to me I'd really let him have it. However since it will be a call center operator who gets the call i will be much nicer but still very upset about the situation. I still have till June 27 then my warranty expires and if its not fixed by then (which I'm sure it will be) then they will be fixing it with their own dollar. Well i must go to class now and see if i can concentrate on my school work.

I know i have not posted in a while and wont for about a week till my laptop comes backa dn i start summer school. i just wanted everyone to know that i am still here and alive and hopefully will be posting again soon.
