So this has to be a quick one because i am doing it on the booses dollar and i am leaving sooner than i thought because the place i need to go is closing a whole hour earlier than i thought. Today's Blog report shows sunny skys with a chance of lazing around tonight followed by some homework and house chores tomorrow and then some more lazing around in the evening. Then on Sunday a chance of friend time with the Bowles and then back to school on monday. I give this forcast a 75% chance of happening with a standard deviation of 1-2 bowls of ice cream for snackies. Have a good weekend everyone!!!!!

Pepperoni pizza w/ ranch, who knew?

Yeah happy over a thousand visits to me!! So the lappy is still at home but will be turned in on Thursday back to the evil gateway people who sold it to me. This past weekend we took a c+ yard and completely tilled it under and made it into an A+ muddle puddle thanks to the rain. However we did make the side yard much nicer we took out the weeds, put a border up, laid down weed cloth, put down mulch, laid out a stepping stone path and planted some young bushes. All in all it went from being a D- to a B+ in my book. The project also broke me of any desire to do more projects for a week or two. Both me and Becca were so sore that our hands hurt and mine cramped a couple times while I slept. But now all that needs to be done is putting in the grass seed and me finishing up the above ground sprinkler system to water it and then we have to wait and water to see if we get a new lawn or have to start saving up for a new sod yard next year.

Back in the saddle again

So today's post will be like all my other posts and be short and sweet. I think i will do a quick update on life. Since Becca will probably go into detail on Craig's wedding i will just say that the trip and wedding were fun and quick. When we got home and i previewed the yard i found that there had been some hot dry days while we were gone. All the grass had died and any new leaves on our plants were yellow and some plants didn't make it. I dropped one of my summer classes in favor of taking it during the fall so i can get full time status and all the loans and work study that goes with it. Besides with out that one class i can now see Becca more than once a week. I got one of my 2 school books and now am only slightly behind in that class and i am still waiting on my statistics book so i can start doing the problems in it so i can better retain the lesson from class. I called the gateway peoples support line and talked to a rep who was much more thorough about what was wrong with my laptop and scheduled another send in time. So hopefully this time it will get fixed, because if it doesn't i may just have to go "Becca" all over them. Other than that the weather is now cool and rainy and looks like it will stay that way for the weekend, which is fine with me because we plan to tear out and reseed the front lawn and the heat would not be very welcome. But i will leave you now because i have been in this chair for 4 hrs and if i don't get up now it will be another 4 hours till i get the chance again.

They say that to become a real skater or blader or bmx-er you have to wipe out pretty good and do some damage. Well today i became an official scooterer. About 3 weeks ago i found a razor scooter some kid had left behind because they had broken the front wheel, bent the forks and messed up the pole that leads to the handles. Well i had been wanting to find a new way of getting around the campus using some wheels but can't skateboard, don't want to hassle w/ a bike and don't want to take on and off roller blades, so i thought this scooter might be the solution. I toke it home bought a new wheel straitened the forks and the pole was only keeping the handles from retracting, no big deal. So i took it to school to my job on campus and road it to and from work and other than it being a little short i had no problems. Than today i took it to class with me and getting to the school was fine i was on a side walk and would have to get off every now and then so i didn't run over people and had no problem. Then on the way back from class i had to go across a couple of different types of concrete pourings. This was the first place the scooter failed the wheels are so small it would get stuck in groves and i would have to get off it to pull it out of this 1/4 inch groove then later on a parking lot i found that it doesn't turn very well either.


Then came the time of my christening. There is this semi long and steep hill to get to the train stop and last time i had ridden down half of it from work. This time i decided to start at the top. Two skinned palms, one skinned knee and a skinned elbow later i found out that the brakes don't work that great either and that i can not run as fast as a scooter can roll down hill. Yes, of course i lost it in front of a group of people walking up the side of the parking lot and one guy actually stopped and asked if i was o.k. So did i feel embarrassed and stupid? Why no actually my adrenaline was running so hard and i was having so much fun that i actually was laughing and having a good time despite the blood oozing out of my body and the knowledge that tomorrow i will be totally sore. It has been so long since i got out and did anything like that, that i had a great time. however the scooter has shown me that it can not do what i need it to. So i have decided that i need to look elsewhere for my new form of transportation and maybe I'll just pawn the free scooter.
