So other than the fact that the screen is a bit small, the bowling game that i just post is totally fun. I really like to go bowling in real life, but i just never seem to find the time. If there isn't a bowling league taking up the lanes it's like tuesday or some other night that is too busy for me to just drop every thing and go bowling. But now i can bowl any time i want to, i just have to go to my website. Well atleast untill i get tired of it being there and put something new up. Thats the thing about this site. Even if i don't post a blog i still change something like the side elements or my personal profile, it keeps the site interesting and fun i think.

For the most part I try to keep my blogs light and funny if possible. But I think this one will be a little on the heavier side.

So for those who don't know I am going into Urban Design, which focuses on the growth and organization of complex systems within states, municipalities and counties to try and achieve maximum growth, efficiency and "happiness" for the people and institute. One of the general sayings that I hear the most is how we need to fix this or that because the system is dying and needs to be revitalized. Usually this is in reference to the big cities and how the population is leaving and the city is dying, but I have also heard it in reference to many other subjects that are discussed in class. This type phrase and thinking drives me nuts!

We are talking about systems and programs that have developed out of the public's social and economical demands and needs. If a system is dying off or failing (not becoming overburdened or inadequate) it is because the public no longer wants or needs to use that system or program. So if they don't want to use that system any more, why are we trying to shove it down the publics throughts or letting the old system evolve into the next solution for the current needs? Are people so attached to the past that they can't let it go? Or are we so afraid of change that we will cling to our outdate systems for comfort until they are so useless that they completely fail us and we are forced to find something new against our will.

Stop trying to put a bandage on a severed arm, find out why the system is failing, what is the underlying porbelm or reaso; what is the technology we have, today, that can meet this new need and ten proceed from there to come up with possible scenarios. Quit looking back!
Now I'm not saying to completely abandon the systems that we have in place. Just that we realize and accept what is happening with the long range public trend and adopt new systems while modifying the old ones to their new role in people’s lives. I just want people to quit trying to revitalize the old system because it worked in the past and we want it to keep working.

I also understand that I am not the most learned in this area yet and that I have over simplified much of the issue. I'm just tired of hear the people in my classes say that "Well in the past...... , we need to revitalize (Blank) because it’s dying and that’s "bad"" Can we please just move on people? Well like I said this was kind of a ranting, so next time I'll try and do a lighter thought, if not for you guys than because they are the kind I prefer to write.

So for those of you who haven' t noticed it on your own, there is a little ad window at the top left of my posting area. Here is the deal with that, for every time it gets clicked i earn monies, but i can't do anything that would cause the button to be push more often than it would be by the normal amount of people who would be interested in the ad. In more simple terms, no sitting there and pressing the button or creating software to do it for me.

So yea, i guess you could call me a sell out or something, but really i just did it for fun, because i mean how many people are going to come here and click on the ad. But once you down load the file it starts off with a basic ad for something, which may or may not have to do with what your site is about. Mine started off with hurricane relief. But then once it is registered with the company it is supposed to be really smart and advanced, it scans your blog to find out what you talk about, what kinds of people are coming to it, and then produce ads that would appeal to them.

So my blogs are fairly wide spread in content and i don't really have too much of a running theme, so in my opinion my ads should be really general to appeal many people. But today when I looked at my ad it said "Find Locum Tenens", what?! Out of all the simple words I've used in my blogs like, keys, puppy, snow, mass transit, that it could have used, it comes up with that?!
Some super smart program, i think they hired a monkey in a cubicle to push buttons with different ad possibilities on them all day. so much for technology

So I went to my friend Dan's blog site (which if you guys haven't done, should) and he had a list of his Top Ten Things that must yada yada yada. Which I think was very nicely done and goes well with his site and his personality. Then i look up a site that has some pretty funny material on it about what kinds of list there are. I'll leave the address so you can check it out( after you finish reading my blog first of course). http://www.davesite.com/humor/top10/000.shtml So I have to applaud Dan and these people for their effort, because I don't think I could ever do a Top Ten of anything and in fact, you'll never ever catch me doing one and I'll tell ya why!

10. There isn't a topic I feel emotionally strong enough about to state ten reasons for. (Except you Honey, Kiss Kiss)
9. What if I have 11 reasons, who is gonna read my "Top Eleven Reasons" that just lame
8. Time, I just don't have enough of it to sit down and think about a topic and its reasons
7. I'm just not creative enough to come up with ten, six maybe, but ten is pushing it
6. They are a last resort for comedic writers who have run out of material
5. I'd run out of fingers, then how could I type
4. Everyone is doing it, and I don't jump off bridges
3. I don't like to have to count backwards
2. Flapjacks (nough said)
1. I think the number 10 is getting a little smug from all the attention

So Monday's weather was so bad that I was unable to leave my house to get acces to the internet and post a blog and since I don't blog on the weekends this blog is a little behind the times as far as keeping up with one blog ( no matter how short) a day every week. Still I will count this one for monday's, because I only have time right now to long in and make sure everything is working and will log in for my tuesday blog tonight either before or during my class.
